ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ °á°ú¸¦ ¹ÙÅÁÀ¸·Î ³²¼º Ãʽɻó´ãÀÚ ±³À°À̳ª ¼öÆÛºñÀüÀ» À§ÇÑ ´Ù¾ç ÇÑ ÇÔÀǵéÀ» Á¦½ÃÇÏ¿´´Ù.

This phenomenological inquiry explored the counseling experiences of novice male counselors. Seven male novice counselors with less than three years of counseling experience were interviewed and analyzed using Colaizzi¡¯s six-step procedure. As a result, four themes and nine sub-themes were found. The participants reported that discomfort with female clients, the clinical advantage of using homogeneity with male clients, ambivalence regarding the assignment of threatening clients, and the feeling of pathetic associated with being young and inexperienced. These results underscored that novice male counselors experience varying comfort with clients¡¯ socio-biological differences. And they felt resentment about being assigned to threatening clients, but also felt relieved that they still had a their own roles. Based on these findings, diverse implication for counselor educators were discussed.
