This study aimed to identify the therapeutic factors of a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral group counseling program. The program was conducted at a counseling graduate school in Seoul, and recordings of the group sessions, reflection papers, interview data, and participation reports from five participants were analyzed using a phenomenological method. The core components of mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy group counseling consisted of mindfulness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationships. From the analysis, 282 meaning units were derived, which were then organized into 42 subcomponents and 11 components. In addition, five overarching categories emerged: therapeutic environment, self-expression, interactional learning, skill development and practice, and discovery and insight. a model for the interrelationships among therapeutic factors was derived. Based on these results, therapeutic factors were identified in mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy group counseling, and the implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research of this study were discussed.
