This study investigated the effects of career decision-making self-efficacy on subjective well-being among South Korean college students and examined the mediating role of career decision level, which was moderated by search for meaning in life. Participants were 548 undergraduates enrolled at four-year universities in South Korea. The findings indicated that career decision-making self-efficacy had a significant positive effect on subjective well-being. Furthermore, career decision level mediated the relationship between career decision-making self-efficacy and subjective well-being. In addition, a moderated mediation effect of search for meaning in life was found, such that students with higher search for meaning maintained relatively high well-being even when their career decision level was low, demonstrating a buffering effect. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were discussed, and suggestions for future research were proposed.
