The purpose of this study was to specifically examine the associations among evaluative concerns perfectionism, experiential avoidance, fear of self-compassion, and depression among employees. To this end, an online survey was conducted with 300 employees nationwide. The results were as follows. First, all correlations among the major variables were significant. Second, experiential avoidance moderated the effect of evaluative concerns perfectionism on depression. Third, experiential avoidance moderated the effect of evaluative concerns perfectionism on fear of self-compassion. Fourth, mediated moderation analyses indicated that experiential avoidance moderated the pathway through which employees¡¯ evaluative concerns perfectionism influenced depression via fear of self-compassion. These findings indicate that employees high in evaluative concerns perfectionism may experience greater fear of self-compassion and depression when they avoid, rather than accept, their experiences. Based on these results, limitations regarding interventions to reduce employees¡¯ depression were discussed.
