This study examined the team project experiences of mature and ordinary undergraduate students through exploring perspectives of both group. Five mature students aged over 30 and five ordinary undergraduate students participated in the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed using thematic analysis. Three main themes emerged in the mature students group: psychological conflict, attitudes toward growth and collaboration, and increased understanding of ordinary undergraduates. In the undergraduate group, three themes were identified: psychological conflict, positive contributions of mature students, and increased understanding of mature students. Despite the initial feeling of distance and burden, both groups embarked on the team project with a desire to contribute, ultimately developing a deeper understanding of each other's strengths and characteristics. Based on these findings, we discussed ways to utilize the team project experience with mature students in higher education , where multiculturalism is emphasized.
