This study examined the cognitive and emotional pathways linking post-traumatic cognition to post-traumatic growth (PTG) and empirically tested the moderating role of acceptance. Data from 230 adults with trauma experience were analyzed using SPSS and PROCESS Macro (Model 91). First, post-traumatic cognition had a significant indirect effect on PTG through the sequential mediation of intrusive and deliberate rumination. Second, higher levels of acceptance strengthened the transition from intrusive to deliberate rumination, indicating a moderated mediation effect. These results suggest that acceptance serves as a key factor facilitating qualitative transformation in cognitive processing and emphasize the need for tailored interventions focusing on emotional acceptance rather than cognitive reappraisal.
