The proportion of dual-income couples has been steadily increasing in Korean society. This study examined the actor–partner effects of marital satisfaction on depression by dual-income status using data from the 19th wave of the Korea Welfare Panel Study. A total of 5,525 married couples were included in the analysis, which was conducted with structural equation modeling in R. The main findings were as follows. First, in the overall sample, husbands¡¯ marital satisfaction showed both actor and partner effects, whereas only wives¡¯ satisfaction influenced their depression. Second, multi-group analysis revealed that husbands exhibited significant actor and partner effects in both dual- and non dual-income families, while wives showed significant actor effects only. Moreover, the actor effect of husbands was stronger in the non dual-income group, whereas that of wives was stronger in the dual-income group. Third, model comparisons between constrained and unconstrained models indicated that some path coefficients significantly differed across groups.
