This study investigated whether self-compassion and self-silencing sequentially mediate the relationship between anxious attachment and psychological well-being among young adults who have experienced relational loss. A total of 315 participants aged 19 to 35 completed a self-report survey. Using SPSS 26.0 and the PROCESS Macro, correlation and mediation analyses were conducted. Results indicated that both self-compassion and self-silencing had significant partial mediating effects on the relationship between anxious attachment and psychological well-being. Furthermore, the mediation analysis showed that self-compassion and self-silencing had a significant partial sequential mediating effect on the relationship between anxious attachment and psychological well-being. These findings suggest that enhancing psychological well-being in young adults with relational loss requires promoting self-compassion and decreasing self-silencing.
