This study analyzed research trends in psychological crisis intervention in Korea and suggested future research directions. A total of 140 articles published in KCI-registered journals were reviewed based on six criteria: basic information, research participants, research topics, research methods, intervention targets, and intervention methods. The results showed that research began in 1981 and increased significantly after the 2010s. Most studies targeted clients, followed by professionals, combined groups, and paraprofessionals. Major research topics included intervention directions, perceptions of (para)professionals, intervention outcomes, and literature reviews. Qualitative methods were most commonly used. Intervention targets were mainly trauma survivors, adolescents and families. Family counseling was the most frequent intervention method, followed by individual counseling and group counseling. Based on these findings, this study provides insights and recommendations for the development of psychological crisis intervention research.
