초록
본 연구는 남성 크론병 청소년이 학교적응 과정에서 겪는 어려움에 대한 경험과 의미 를 탐색하고자 수행된 현상학적 연구이다. 자료 수집을 위해 크론병을 진단받은 남성 청 소년 5명을 대상으로 반구조화 인터뷰를 실시하였으며, Colaizzi 현상학적 연구방법을 통 해 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 7개의 상위 범주와 19개의 하위 범주가 도출되었다. 크 론병 청소년들이 학교적응에서 겪는 어려움으로는 ‘고군분투하지만 따라가기 어려운 학 업’, ‘마음처럼 할 수 없는 상황에 대한 무력감’, ‘항상 부끄러운 나의 일부’, ‘늘 의식되고 두려운 사람들의 시선’, ‘그림자처럼 따라다니는 조롱과 수군거림’, ‘쌓여가는 서운함과 외 로움’, ‘피하고 싶은 과한 동정과 배려’가 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 크론병 청 소년의 학교적응을 돕기 위한 다양한 수준에서의 개입과 시사점을 논의하였다.
This study explored the experiences of adolescents with Crohn’s disease in school adaptation. To that end, five participants were recruited and interviewed. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. As a result, seven categories and 19 subcategories were found. To be specific, ‘struggling but unable to keep up with academic work’, ‘a sense of helplessness in uncontrollable situations’, ‘a shameful part of myself’, ‘being conscious by other people’s fearful gaze’, ‘ridicule and whispers that always follow me like a shadow’, ‘accumulating disappointment and loneliness’, ‘too much sympathy and consideration that wish to avoid’. Based on these findings, various interventions and implications to support school adaptation of adolescents with Crohn’s disease were suggested.
