This study explored the experiences of adolescents with Crohn¡¯s disease in school adaptation. To that end, five participants were recruited and interviewed. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi¡¯s phenomenological method. As a result, seven categories and 19 subcategories were found. To be specific, ¡®struggling but unable to keep up with academic work¡¯, ¡®a sense of helplessness in uncontrollable situations¡¯, ¡®a shameful part of myself¡¯, ¡®being conscious by other people¡¯s fearful gaze¡¯, ¡®ridicule and whispers that always follow me like a shadow¡¯, ¡®accumulating disappointment and loneliness¡¯, ¡®too much sympathy and consideration that wish to avoid¡¯. Based on these findings, various interventions and implications to support school adaptation of adolescents with Crohn¡¯s disease were suggested.
