The purpose of this study is to investigate whether self-compassion mediates the relationship between intrusive rumination and social anxiety in late adolescence and to find out whether daily hassles moderates the mediating effect of self-compassion. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted for aged 19-24 years of age nationwide, and data from a total of 533 people were collected. As a result of the study, first, there was a significantly positive mediating effect of self-compassion in the relationship between intrusive rumination and social anxiety. Second, daily hassles were found to moderate the relationship between self-compassion and social anxiety. Third, the moderated mediating effect of daily hassles moderating the mediating effect of self-compassion was found. These results suggest the need for interventions to improve self-compassion and awareness and control daily hassles to reduce social anxiety. The study's findings and the implications of the findings were discussed, and some suggestions were made.
