This study is to verify the mediated effectiveness of stress acceptance and control in the relationship between depression and college expectations of college freshmen. 373 college students classified as interested and crisis groups were analyzed in the intention of leaving the university among freshmen at D University. The results of the study are as follows. First, depression among college freshmen has had a significant negative impact on college expectations. Secondly, stress acceptance for college freshmen did not have a significant impact on college expectations. Thirdly, stress control for college freshmen have had a significant (+) impact on college expectations. Fourth, stress acceptance did not play a statistically significant role in the relationship between depression and college expectations, and stress control played a statistically significant role in the relationship between the two. The meaning of this study is to argue that college freshmen who are suffering from depression will be able to practice their expectations and hopeful college life through stress control training. Based on the results of the study, various departments and counseling centers in the university suggested implementing a stress response training program.
