The purpose of this study is to explore the mediating effects of study habit and school adjustment in the relations between career identity and life satisfaction of middle school students based on gender. The participants of the study were 2,259 middle school students from the 3rd panel data of the Korean Child and Youth survey. Structural Equation Model was conducted to examine the research model, and multgroup analysis and Sobel test were conducted to compare gender difference and to idenify the mediating effect of study habit and school adjustment. The results of this study are as follows: First, career identity had directly effect on study habit, school adjustment, and life satisfaction, whereas study habit had no direct effect on life satisfaction. Second, career identity had significant impact on the life satisfaction of middle school students through study habit and school adjustment. Third, there was no significant gender difference on the structural model. This study suggested that career identity as well as study habit and school adjustment would be considered to improve the life satisfaction of middle school students.
