This study analyzed the research trends related to early childhood evaluation in academic journals from 1978 to 2020. The analysis criteria were selected by study period, research area, research type, research subject, data collection method, data analysis method, infant evaluation content, and utilization of infant evaluation results, and frequency analysis was conducted. The results of the study are as follows. First, researches related to infant evaluation were most often studied in the third period (2000-2009). Second, in the research area, there was a lot of research tool development. Third, in terms of research type, it was found that there were many research studies of quantitative research. Fourth, the subjects of study are the most. Fifth, the method of data collection was large in quantitative studies, and qualitative studies were insignificant. The proportion of secondary data collection studies and multi-layered relationship verification between variables was high. Sixth, as for the data analysis method, the relational analysis of quantitative research was carried out a lot. Seventh, there were many things about the growth of language and numbers in the evaluation contents of infants. Eighth, there have been many studies on the improvement of the curriculum in the use of early childhood evaluation. This study provided basic data to establish the direction of future follow-up research by comprehensively grasping the current status and trend of research related to infant evaluation.
