<Abstract>

The purpose of this study is to verify that experiential avoidance mediates the relationship between obsessional beliefs and test anxiety in college students. To this end, the online survey of 331 college students was conducted. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro 3.1. The results of this study were as follows: First, obsessional beliefs showed positive correlation with the experiential avoidance and test anxiety. Second, obsessional beliefs, test anxiety, experiential avoidance differed significantly depending on academic performance. Third, The mediating effect of experiential avoidance in the relationship between Obsessional beliefs and test anxiety was shown to vary depending on academic performance. The mediating effect was found to be significant only in the medium and lower group. These findings suggest that attention is needed to the experiential avoidance of college students with high obsession, and that a customized approach is important to alleviate test anxiety.
