<요 약>

본 연구는 청소년들의 학업무기력과 스마트폰 과의존의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 한국아동·청소년 패널데이터 2018을 데이터 대상으로 하여 분석을 실시하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변인간의 상관관계 결과 청소년의 학업무기력은 우울과 스마트폰 과의존과 정적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 청소년의 우울과 스마트폰 과의존과도 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년들의 학업무기력은 우울과 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났으며, 학업무기력이 높을수록 우울과 스마트폰 과의존도 높음을 알 수 있었다. 우울도 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났으며, 우울이 높을수록 스마트폰 과의존도 높음을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 청소년들이 지각한 학업무기력이 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향에서 우울의 부분 매개 효과가 검증되었다.

<Abstract>

This study intended to examine the mediating effects of depression in the relationship between academic helplessness and smartphone dependence in adolescents. The analysis was conducted on the data of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Data 2018, and the results of the study were as follows. First, the correlation between variables resulted adolescents' academic helplessness showed a positive correlation between depression and smartphone over dependence. And there has also been a positive correlation between depression of adolescentss and over dependence on smartphones. Second, adolescents' academic helplessness have been shown to influence depression and over dependence on smartphones. The higher the academic helplessness, the higher the depression and over dependence on smartphones. And depression is also a factor that affects over dependence on smartphones. The higher the depression, the higher the over dependence on smartphones. Finally, the partial mediating effect of depression has been verified in the impact of late academic helplessness on smartphone over dependence.
